Alpaca Awareness Weekend - What it's all about?

Alpaca Awareness Weekend, 12-13 May 2018 is an educational initiative of the South Queensland and Northern NSW Region of the Australian Alpaca Association Ltd. It focuses on all that is fascinating and luxurious about these endearing animals and the advancements making Australia a world leader in the industry.

"Alpaca Awareness Weekend 2018 is the ideal opportunity for anyone thinking seriously about owning alpacas, or just interested in finding out more by taking part in the range of events on offer" says Michelle Malt, Regional Marketing Officer.

During Alpaca Awareness Weekend a number of farms throughout the region will be hosting open days, educational events and opportunities for potential breeders to learn more about Australian Alpaca. Wahgungurry Alpaca Stud is celebrating Alpaca Awareness Week by opening its gates and inviting you to come along and join in the fun

We’re inviting you to come along, “Pat a ‘Paca” and learn all about the animal’s really interesting history and the importance of its fleece. Mums of all ages will love them.

Plenty of picnic areas and enjoy views of the Clarence Valley.

There will be Devonshire Tea, Displays and lots of Alpacas to pat!

Alpaca products will be available to purchase so if you are stuck for a present idea, we’ll save the day!

Alpaca Week is an educational initiative of the Australian Alpaca Association. It aims to demystify the Alpaca and to educate the wider community about the luxuriousness of Alpaca fleece.
